Important! Breastfeeding legislation is coming up in this next session of the House of Representatives, please help!

Rep. Carolyn Maloney is going to reintroduce the Breastfeeding Promotion Act this coming session.

The Breastfeeding Promotion would: amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to protect breastfeeding by new mothers; provide tax incentives for
businesses that establish private lactation areas in the workplace; provide for a performance standard for breast pumps; and provide families with a tax deduction for breastfeeding equipment.

Once again flu season is upon us. Patients are enquiring about flu vaccinations and whether a shot for mom might hurt the baby. The Centers for Disease Control have an informative website which may be helpful as you decide what to do. If you wish to have a shot please only use an INACTIVE vaccine. Live vaccines are NOT safe for you during pregnancy.
