Becky Keffer Machado, LM, CPM – Midwife
Being a home birth baby myself, seeking a midwife for my own pregnancies was an easy choice. My two girls were born in water in a birth center in Ft. Myers. I breastfed, co-slept, used cloth diapers and carried my babies in slings. My own birth experiences lead me to change careers from computer software deployment to midwifery in 2008. I started as a birth assistant for The Birth Place and was instantly hooked. I finished midwifery school in 2012. I am a Florida Licensed Midwife (LM) and a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM). I am also certified in CPR and NRP, neonatal resuscitation program. I have been privileged to have welcomed over 270 babies into this world as a licensed midwife and have attended over 350 births since I started this journey of helping moms and babies. I believe in treating things naturally and prevention is the best treatment. So many things in pregnancy can be prevented with a good diet, enough protein and water. Healthy pregnancy equals a healthy baby. I would be honored to use my knowledge and experience to help you not only have a healthy pregnancy but have the tools to care for your little peanut!
Mary Surprenant, LM, CPM – Midwife
Hello families! Let me introduce myself, my name is Mary and the birthing world is where I love to be. I am married and have two beautiful young adult women. I graduated from Florida School of Traditional Midwifery, 2012. I was licensed in 2013 and have been serving over 500 families to date. I chose to become a Midwife, so I can focus more on Out of Hospital birth and reconnecting with the patient and her family as a whole. I look forward to helping more central Florida families bring their child into a peaceful world in the most loving way.
Cassie Largaespada, LM CPM – Midwife
I am passionate about working with a mother (and family) during one of the most miraculous events of their life. I believe that bringing a child into this world is a natural, beautiful moment. I also believe that parents should be well-informed about their choices during pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum. I have birthed 4 children of my own and my younger 3 were all born at a birth center. Those experiences shaped me and opened my heart to a deep desire to help other women receive the same kind of care and empowerment. I practiced as a doula for 12 years before pursuing my dream of becoming a midwife. I attended midwifery school at the Commonsense Childbirth School of Midwifery in Winter Garden, FL. After 3 years of school and internship, I became licensed as a midwife in the state of Florida in July of 2018.
